Dr. FERRANDVS - REX. Busto coronato a d. Rv. [EQVITAS - REGNI ?]. Cavallo gradiente verso d.; sopra, simbolo (sette colli); in esergo, A (gotica) tra due rosette.

Unico esemplare conosciuto.

Il simbolo presente sul rovescio della moneta è costituito da sette asticelle verticali che non conosce alcun confronto iconografico con i simboli impressi su cavalli emessi nelle varie zecche dell’ Italia centrale e meridionale sotto questo re. Da un’indagine condotta nel 1913 da M. Cagiati, che riprende a sua volta la testimonianza di G. V. Fusco del 1846, si apprende dell’esistenza di una zecca attiva a Cosenza tra il XV e il XVI secolo. Le Sette asticelle potrebbero verosimilmente rappresentare i 7 colli che coronavano la città antica di Cosenza riprodotti fin dal 1222 sullo stemma cittadino.
