ROMA. Clemente XII (Lorenzo Corsini), 1730-1740. Mezza Piastra 1736 a. VII. Ag gr. 14,69 Dr. CLEMENS - XII P M A VII. Busto a d., con camauro, mozzetta e stola. Rv. DECVS - PATRIAE. La Chiesa di S. Giovanni dei Fiorentini; in esergo, data in numeri romani, O M (Ottone Hamerani, incisore) e al centro armetta di Monsignor Casoni. Munt. 19; B. 2617.

Ricorda il completamento della chiesa che l’Università della Nazione Fiorentina e la Compagnia della Pietà di Roma ottennero da Leone X di costruire nel 1517. I lavori affidati ad Jacopo Sansovino prima, poi ad Antonio da Sangallo, Giacomo della Porta e al Maderno che costruì la cupola, furono completati sotto Clemente XII da Alessandro Galilei nel 1734.
