Dr. ALEXANDER - VI PONT MAX. Stemma sormontato da triregno e chiavi decussate. Rv. ACCIPE CL - AVES R - EGNI CELORVM. Gesù consegna le chiavi a S. Pietro, genuflesso.

La legenda del rv. afferma che il Papato era stato dato loro da Dio e non dagli uomini.
Pietro, apostolo, martire (venne crocifisso a testa in giù a Roma durante le persecuzioni neroniane), viene rappresentato con le due chiavi in mano o mentre genuflesso riceve da Gesù le chiavi, naturale segno iconografico per esprimere il potere di Pietro sulla Chiesa.
