Il monogramma del re in caratteri greci fa propendere per l’attribuzione alla zecca
di Ravenna, città in cui la cultura greca-bizantina era ancora molto viva (cfr. M. Thomson, The monogram of Charlemagne in Greek in ANSMN 12, 1966 125-127).
